Bam Khatoon opened a new chapter for Iranian club football in Thimphu, defeating Kitchee SC 2–0 to secure a place in the AFC Women's Champions League 2024/25 group stage.
Fatemeh Amineh put Bam Khatoon in front before the interval and Mona Hamoudi added the second goal after the break. The result confirmed top spot in the preliminary group and delivered a place in the competition's main stage.
The qualification carried significance beyond one match: Bam Khatoon became the first Iranian club to advance to the group stage of the newly launched AFC Women's Champions League.
The achievement set the platform for a campaign that would continue into the knockout phase and strengthen the club's position among the leading women's teams in West and Central Asia.
